Practitioner Standards

Last updated 30 Sept 2026 · v1.0.3

Every doctor who consults through Sanatan Ayurveda is engaged under a written Practitioner Agreement. This page is a summary of what that agreement requires, so you know what to expect from the doctor treating you.

Who our doctors are

Our doctors are qualified Ayurvedic practitioners (BAMS or higher) holding a valid registration with a State Board or the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine.

Before a doctor can consult, we verify their degree, registration and identity. Registration is re-checked periodically, and a doctor whose registration lapses cannot consult.

Clinical independence and responsibility

Doctors are engaged by Sanatan Ayurveda as independent professionals. They use their own clinical judgment and are responsible for diagnosis, treatment and prescription.

Sanatan Ayurveda is responsible for verifying credentials and for running the platform and service.

How consultations are conducted

Consultations follow the Telemedicine Practice Guidelines, 2020. The doctor confirms your identity, takes a case history and, where appropriate, issues a consultation summary and prescription.

If your condition needs a physical examination or urgent care, the doctor will tell you and advise you to visit a clinic or hospital.

What will not be prescribed online

Medication for medical termination of pregnancy, Schedule X drugs, narcotic and psychotropic substances, and habit-forming drugs.

No commission on prescriptions

A doctor’s consultation fee is their only payment from Sanatan Ayurveda. Doctors receive no commission, incentive or benefit linked to what they prescribe or what you buy, and are set no prescription or order-value targets.

You may fill any prescription at any pharmacy of your choice.

No promises of a cure

Doctors may not promise a cure or guarantee a result. Ayurvedic treatment works gradually and outcomes differ between individuals.

Your consultation records

Your records stay with Sanatan Ayurveda, including if a doctor leaves the platform. Doctors are bound to confidentiality and may not keep patient information outside the platform.

Records may be reviewed by our medical and quality team for quality assurance, compliance, grievance investigation and training, as set out in our Privacy Policy.

How to complain

If you are unhappy with a consultation, write to team@sanatanayurveda.com with your booking ID. We acknowledge every complaint within 48 hours and resolve it within one month. Consultation refunds are covered in our Returns & Refunds policy.
