Ayurvedic treatment for stomach cancer

It is important to be direct: there is no Ayurvedic or herbal cure for stomach cancer, and relying on alternative treatment instead of surgery, chemotherapy or radiation can cost a life. Ayurveda may, however, play a supportive role alongside modern oncology for people who choose it.

Where Ayurveda may support

• Managing nausea, poor appetite and fatigue during chemotherapy, with gentle measures such as ginger for nausea
• Supporting digestion, strength and sleep during and after treatment
• Stress reduction through breathing practices and routine
• Traditional formulations sometimes used by practitioners as general support, such as guduchi or ashwagandha, though evidence for benefit in cancer is limited

What Ayurveda cannot do

• Shrink or cure a stomach tumor
• Replace surgery, chemotherapy, radiation, targeted therapy or immunotherapy
• Safely delay endoscopy or cancer treatment

Interactions matter Some herbs interact with chemotherapy or affect the liver. Always tell your oncologist about any Ayurvedic medicine, supplement or powder you take.

Choosing a practitioner If you use Ayurveda, choose a qualified practitioner who works alongside your oncologist, not one who asks you to stop cancer treatment. Any claim of a guaranteed cancer cure is a red flag.

Ayurvedic view (interpretive) Supportive care fits the traditional goal of strengthening the patient. It is complementary only, with evidence limited.
